Assessment of replacement costs
for insurance purposes
Discuss the client's requirements.
Consider the policy's conditions and advise on specific inclusions.
Visit site and check record drawings or measure the property if required or
obtain record drawings.
Assess the replacement cost of a building including allowance for demolition,
temporary works, site clearance, and fees excluding occupier's fixtures and
fittings and consequential losses.
Report the figures assessed.
Insurance claims
Discuss client's requirements and agree the scope of service to be provided.
Notify appointment to loss adjuster and/or other interested parties.
Check policy details.
Inspect the site and record the extent of damage.
Identify the need for and arrange for temporary works.
Agree the extent of documentation required to support the claim.
Confirm the extent of statutory consents required in respect of reinstatements.
Prepare estimate of cost of repairs/reconstruction and liaise with other consultants.
Prepare the claim in principle and submit to the loss adjuster.
Confirming costs when tenders for the repair/reinstatement are received.
Submit and agree final details of the claim on completion of repair/reinstatement. |
