CAREER HISTORY
Vanessa began her career in the building industry in 1987 when she joined her Local Authority's Housing department as a Trainee Inspector. She stayed in the Housing department for two years training in various sections, finishing with carrying out surveys on flats under the Right to Buy, before moving to the Technical Services department where she had responsibility for visiting, inspecting and arranging repairs and maintenance for public buildings.
In 1993 Vanessa left the local authority to work for a National provider of Sheltered Housing, where she had a portfolio of over twenty schemes spread across the Midlands and into Buckinghamshire Lincolnshire, Shropshire & Herefordshire.
In 1997 she joined the property maintenance department of a National Pub retailer and initially looked after property in and around Birmingham, but then was allocated a portfolio of property which encompassed property on the South coast and in and around London.
In 2003 Vanessa then joined another National company, this time providing residential care for people with learning disabilities. Here she came into contact with the National Care Standards Commission, (now the Commission for Social Care Inspection), and have a good knowledge of the requirements for environments for vulnerable persons.
Vanessa now works for the Allen Cavanagh Partnership and have brought a wealth of knowledge relating to a variety of sectors to the practice.

EXPERIENCE
From 1990 to 2003 Vanessa has been responsible for providing Project Management and Building Surveying services in house to organisations with their own property portfolio including Wolverhampton City Council, Bass Leisure Retail, and Hanover Housing Association. Latterly she has been involved with other clients, including Royal Mail and Coventry City Council as a consultant. These appointments have included:-
